2004 Big Sky Documentary Film Festival

All screenings will be held February 20-25, 2004 at the recently-restored Roxy Theater in downtown Missoula, Montana.

The festival will showcase a cross-section of non-fiction films from all genres, styles, formats and production dates, from the most innovative and timely new films to classics and rare historic works. Awards will be given for Best Feature Documentary, Best Short Documentary and Best Montana Documentary (The Big Sky Award).

Please join us for the week-long celebration of documentary film.





The competitive event is open to non-fiction films and videos of all styles, genres, and lengths. Official selections with production dates prior to January 1, 2003 are eligible for entry but will screen out of competition. Entries must be received by December 1, 2003.

Awards will be made for:

Best Feature Documentary 2003
This will be awarded to the best feature documentary with a production date from 2003.

Best Short Documentary 2003
This will be awarded to the best short documentary with a production date from 2003.

Big Sky Award
This will be given to a Montana-based filmmaker for a documentary judged best in-state production.

And is sponsored by High Plains Films, Brain Musick Design, and High Country News.
