The Big Sky Documentary Film Festival is the premier venue for non-fiction film in the American West. Screenings will be held February 17-23, 2005 on Montana's largest screen at the historic Wilma Theater in downtown Missoula, Montana. Over 75 films, including world and U.S. premiers, classics, rare and experimental works will be shown during the week-long festival.

The festival will showcase a cross-section of 75-100 non-fiction films from all styles, formats and production dates, from the most innovative and timely new films to classics and rare historic works. One award each will be given for the best feature and short documentary released in the previous year. The Big Sky Award will be given to one film from the previous year about the American West.

The competitive event is open to non-fiction films and videos of all styles, subject matter, lengths and production dates. Films and videos with release dates prior to September 1, 2003 are eligible for entry but will screen out of competition if selected. Awards will be given for Best Feature Documentary, Best Short Documentary and best documentary about the American West (the "Big Sky Award").

We look forward to viewing your entries!

Good luck!
